IN ALL ITS SPARKLE

The project "In All Its Sparkle. Crystal from Form to Cut" showcased historical

art glass and crystal accompanied by works of avant-garde,

Thaw period and contemporary artists from private collections.

The exhibition was structured as the journey of creating an object: from the composition of the glass mass and defining the form of the future piece

to its artistic finishing. The steps of the masters and the properties of the material are reflected not only in the crystal and glass exhibits,

but also in associative works from other areas of art, which rhyme with the masterpieces from the museum's collection — they are united by form

and details, the image of facets and the play of light, the color palette and plasticity.

The concept of the exhibition grew out of direct work with the material — the more the curators learned about the intricacies of crystal production

and processing, the stronger the need became to make this process accessible and to present each workstation as a separate

area for creativity and discovery. The idea of the continuity of the creative process is revealed through a dialogue between the historical collection

and objects by contemporary artists created specifically for the project — works were presented by Irina Korina, Margo Makarova,

Alexandra Nestёrkina, Maria Pukhova, Olga Treivas, Margo Trushina, Sasha Frolova.

The FRESH.GLASS team presented objects from the FF BLOCKS collection, developed as part of the #FRESH.GLASS.DESIGN direction.

The museum's inner courtyard hosted the studio's first public art piece, created specifically for the exhibition. A series of sculptural objects froze

in an attempt to trace the liminal states of glass and their similarity to the sensations of experiencing moments of human life. The installation material

was glass blocks formed during the technical pour from the furnaces of the glass giant AIG, conducted once every 17 years.
