«»
«» is the first exhibition project by FRESH.GLASS that is curated by the artists themselves. The exhibition brings together
FRESH.GLASS art objects and production practices, introducing the audience to the lab’s multifaceted creative possibilities.
The fantasy landscape of the exhibition is an invitation to a leisurely introspective journey.
We invite you to get acquainted and feel, to find mirages and your own illusions…
DESIRE TO OVERCOME
The exhibition acquires additional dimensions through mirrors scattered across the space.
As if immersed in a shifting sand dune reshaped by every breath of the wind, it invites viewers to explore
both the transformation of the space and their own sensual experiences within it. Intentionally untitled,
the project opens a space for personal interpretation. It encourages each viewer to create their own «title»
– an impression inspired by their unique sensory encounter with the exhibition.
The seating object «Desire to overcome» is a metaphor for confronting and transcending the fear of the unknown.
ВАСK SIDE
The Other Side is the most ambiguous object of the installation, hidden behind a panel of “Martian” glass. For viewers who approach closely, a mirror reveals the junction between the real world and the world beyond – requiring a glimpse between the mirror and the glass that protects it. Despite its size, the mirror’s placement in the space does not allow multiple perspectives – but it does not aim to. The Other Side is a point for quiet contemplation, yet to reach it, one must first overcome Doubt.
DOUBT
The final stage of this journey is the ability to trust the material, to find a sense
of balance – whether sitting on a bed of glass or in a chair object. It is the moment
of experiencing the exposition not from the outside, but from the inside.
Through interaction, glass in the FRESH.GLASS’s practice acts as a guide
to the viewer’s inner world. In a modern reality where black mirrors connect
us to the outside world, where else but in a transparent mirror – glass itself
– can we find a reflection of the world of our inner experiences?
OIOIIO
OlOllO are modular wall lamps made from fine-grained glass with a white, matte, velvety texture reminiscent of soft skin. The gentle geometry of the six forms in the series allow for the creation of dozens of simple, minimalist compositions on the wall, illuminated with warm, diffused light. The texture of broken, kiln-fired glass refracts light, bringing it to life within the thickness of the glass and revealing a delicate, lace-like surface. This series of light elements enables sculptural arrangements on walls or ceilings.
Each olo can be used individually or combined with others, connected in lines or intricate patterns. Compositions can evolve over time, with pieces added or separated to create endlessly new forms. Their soft geometry and the warm, diffused light filtering through the glass particles captivate the viewer and invite touch. The velvety texture of the kiln-fired glass shards mesmerizes, holding both the eyes and the hands.
Gippo Tables
Someone was at the table recently, maybe he went away. Or maybe it was you who lit the candle and watered the flower. Touch the folds of the glass skin.
The tables from the Gippo series occupy the far corner of the exhibition for a reason – with their monumental forms, they become a haven where the viewer-traveler can surface "into reality" and catch their breath. Books, a houseplant, a lit candle – this nook embodies the warmth of a hearth, a welcoming and cozy little world where one can hide from the feelings and events raging beyond its borders. The white matte glass of the tabletops, covered with fine wrinkles, invites touch, like warm skin.
Closer to the exit, you can see tables glowing green. They seem as if worn smooth by the sea.
KAMUSHKI
IZ MORYA
A pair of tables from the Sea Pebbles series precedes — and, with a change of perspective, concludes — the exposition. The texture of the glass tabletops references the semi-transparent turquoise surface of the sea on a fine day, and their shape — to pebbles smoothed by waves, pieces of glass, and fragments of other materials. This kind of "sand" covers the beach near Cape of Three Stones, on the shore of Steklyannaya (Glass) Bay in Vladivostok — once dangerous, sharp man-made fragments, under the influence of the waves, acquired smooth outlines that inspired the artists to create their Sea Pebbles.
Now look outside
You were just there…. What did you feel there, what do you feel now?
Having lived through it, now you can name this exhibition yourself….
The Outside Point as the final one is behind the glass, you cannot touch where you have been, although you can return, but you cannot live it the same way again.
