STATES
A series of sculptural objects traces the liminal states of glass and their
similarity to the sensations of experiencing moments of human life
STATES
On November 20, the exhibition "In All Its Splendor. Crystal from Form to Cut" opened, where we presented
our first public art piece — the installation "States"
It is created from glass blocks formed during the technical pour from the furnaces of the glass giant
AiG, which takes place once every 17 years
Groups of stones or solitary glass monoliths reveal their natural states along the path, raising the question of whether
these manifestations are self-sufficient in their natural form or if the touch of a hand is necessary to unlock their potential?
To us, these structures seem akin to how a person on their journey passes through various stages of becoming—a state of awe, a stage of development, a feeling of acceptance, a sense of fracture, immersion, fulfillment; through crystalline honesty, and sometimes retains the marks of life's numerous blows and scratches.
We have tried to preserve and reveal in each object its essence, character, energy, and history, to emphasize their nature: some acquire sharp edges, others flow with neat rounded forms and draw one inward; still others are cleaved by a sharp movement, exposing inner beauty.
