"Degrees of Transparency"

A spatial light installation at the Heritage Gallery as part of the "Degrees of Transparency" («Степени прозрачности») exhibition and festival, Moscow, Russia.

Large canvases form their own architecture.

The glass panels form a space that is both removed from the world and subtly connected to it through light and shadow. The glass gently envelopes the viewer, creating a sense of weightlessness and dissolving the boundaries within the installation. The walls rustle and bend – breathing in and out–like the breath of a person in a state of calm and inspiration. Everything is filled with a soft glow, just as an inner space lights up softly in a moment of clarity.

This is a place where the power of accomplishment is felt. One can enter it at a moment of being on the edge, to experience that cherished, fulfilling breathe–a sense of self-confidence. Here, you begin to contemplate what is happening, reflecting while observing yourself and others. To reach this space of calm and light, effort is required–you must understand through which gap you can enter, and most importantly, summon the courage to engage. Heaviness-lightness, strength-weakness, fear-courage–all exist in balance. To reach a cave hidden beneath the water, one must swim while holding their breath. Within the installation lies the power of water: cleansing, persistent, enveloping.
