This year we meet in two spaces at once at Cosmoscow — for the first time in the public zone of the Media Forum and at the Heritage gallery booth. In the Cosmoscow space, where the eye is constantly rushing to see the next thing, the installation «The Nature of Light» in the Media Forum becomes a zone of deceleration.
This is the first public installation by FRESH.GLASS participating in the key fair of collectible design and contemporary art in Russia. Through the properties of glass, we explore the transition from image as an instantaneous impulse to a personal, sensory experience of contemplation. The series of canvases captures attention with fluid reflections, inviting one to observe their nature, to feel the lightness, airiness, and purity of the touches of the flight of glows.
At the Heritage gallery stand, the eye focuses on individual objects from different directions – #FRESH.GLASS.ART and #FRESH.GLASS.DESIGN. The «Naturalness» mirror from the NÉGLIGÉ collection returns the gaze not quite as we are used to perceiving it. The reflection is fragmentary, slightly displaced, and never final.
Like a winter river that during a thaw now opens, now hides again beneath a thin edge of ice, the reflection here changes with distance and the state of the viewer, allowing one to see not only one's own image but also the very process of its emergence. In this gesture, glass becomes an artistic conductor of the inner gaze, preserving that fragile uncertainty in which it is impossible to understand what exactly is opening – the surface or the depth.
The CALMAR tiered bar shelving unit – appears beside you like a mirage from the deep sea. The soft molded edges of the glass flow around the metal frame, refracting light on its surfaces with lively glints. The modular design allows the object's configuration to be changed: it can be a shelving unit, a console, a bar, or a coffee table. Here glass speaks the language of design – applied and functional, yet even in this everyday role it retains a lively and fluid character.

The stand's architecture reflects the dynamic thought of the FRESH.GLASS artistic laboratory, the history of the studio's development
and the spectrum of its possibilities. Just as the team openly shares processes in its own space, the stand hospitably
opens a door to the mechanism of realizing ideas, inextricably linked with the sensations from the nature of glass.
Sketches lie on the table and a pencil as if forgotten by chance, books, samples and experiments stand on the shelves. It seems that just recently someone was creating meanings and having active discussions right here.
Everything is alive, mobile, inviting to get acquainted with the different properties of glass: its fluidity, transparency, ability to refract light and transform under the influence of temperature.
Here, glass becomes a medium in which life manifests itself, like water taking on an infinite variety of forms.
The semi-transparent canvases at the front allow the outlines of the far part of the stand
to be noticed, but do not allow it to be seen clearly, giving the opportunity to complete the
space with one's own imagination. The nature of glass, hidden in objects at the intersection of function
and art, merges with the plant nature of the flora present at the stand, while the diffused light invites
one to tactilely feel the textures and look inside the products and structures.
Glass ceases to be just a material, becoming a full-fledged participant in shaping the environment, uniting the statement into a single whole. Immersion in the process of the craft technique of slumping, in which every object within the statement is created, holds a strong natural sensation that, through interaction with the space, its intimacy within, remains in the heart, shimmering. The atmosphere is filled with light and solitude in the refractions of light and glimmers, creating a sense of the material's movement and breath.
The three areas of the art laboratory's work — architecture, design, and art — reinforce each other, creating a stable, branched ecosystem, with the living dialogue between material and human becoming its core.
